Why bake?

Well hello there. I have never written a blog and I have also never created my own baking business when 10'000 months pregnant but there's a first time for everything. The first time I made a proper cake was about six years ago. My older sister was getting married and I said don't worry about the cake, I'll make it.

Had a made a wedding cake before?

No.

Did I have any idea how to make said wedding cake?

Also no.

But I figured I had a year to learn so I'm sure I could figure it out.

I found that a great way to learn was to just give it a shot, let it completely fall apart disastrously and then figure out what went wrong and go backwards from there.

I was also in the middle of a literally mental breakdown thanks to an undiagnosed bipolar disorder.

So here we are now six years later. I just love making cakes. I love the order and the precision that is widely contradicted by measuring chocolate and the like not with a scale but with their heart. I know. That was so sickeningly sweet of a cliche to give me a toothache. I'll stop now.. Actually that's most likely a lie.

Any way. I am going to post here once a week basically telling my story in the start of my small business venture of making cakes. And if some of them just look too tasty for words.. I'm always open to new orders.
